TERRA

COLORS:

In ancient Roman religion and myth, Tellus Mater or Terra Mater ("Mother Earth") is a goddess of the Earth. She is regularly associated with Ceres in rituals pertaining to the earth and agricultural fertility.

Attributes of Tellus were the cornucopia, or bunches of flowers or fruit.

DEFENCOR

Huge and extremely strong, they are heavily armored with the sole purpose to take on all the offense the enemies throw at them and survive. With all this heavy equipement they are slow and in ordinary circumstances enemies could easily avoid them, however they have a hooks on a chain to grab and pull enemies closer.

PROVOCATOR

Have been shown wearing a loincloth, a belt, a long greave on legs, a manica on the lower left arm, and a helmet without brim or crest. They were the only gladiators protected by a breastplate which is usually rectangular. They fought with a big hammer.

MURMILLO

Fighting style was suited for men with strong arms and shoulders due to carrying the weight of the shield and sword.The tower shield gave him an edge in defence and the gladius enabled him to thrust and swing at his enemies when in close range.

JUPITER

COLORS:

Jupiter, also known as Jove (gen. Iovis ), is the god of the sky and thunder, and king of the gods in ancient Roman religion and mythology.

Jupiter is usually thought to have originated as a sky god. His identifying implement is the thunderbolt and his primary sacred animal is the eagle, which held precedence over other birds in the taking of auspices.

ATTRIBUTES:

As the god of the sky, Jupiter commanded lightning, thunder, and storms. Like Zeus, he wielded lightning bolts as weapons.

QALA’IM BALEARIM

Their equipment for fighting consists of three slings, and of these they keep one around the head, another around the belly, and the third in the hands. Bag of missiles.

VELITES

Are presumed to have fought on foot, armed with a spear, sword and small round shield (parma); hurled missilesthis and lightly armed .

IACULATOR

Lightarmed soldiers carrying throwing darts to hurl them at the enemy.

SAGITTARIUS

The Sagittarius was a type of Roman gladiator who fought with a bow and arrows. They wore armour and helmets.

VULCAN

COLORS:

Vulcan is the god of fire. He is often depicted with a blacksmith's hammer, including the fire of volcanoes, deserts, metalworking and the forge in ancient Roman religion and myth.

It is recorded that during the Vulcanalia people used to hang their clothes and fabrics under the sun. This habit might reflect a theological connection between Vulcan and the divinized Sun.

ATTRIBUTES:

From metallurgy and smithing to arms and jewelry making, Vulcan was a master of the forge.

SCISSOR

Used a special short sword with two blades that looked like a pair of open scissors without a hinge. This type of gladiator fought using a weapon consisting of a hardened steel tube that encased the gladiator's entire forearm, with the hand end capped off and a semicircular blade attached to it.

DIMACHAERI

Equipped for close-combat fighting. A dimachaerus used a pair of siccae (curved scimitar) or gladius and used a fighting style adapted to both attack and defend with his weapons rather than a shield, as he or she was not equipped with one.
